Black doll

My black doll

Growing up I had  toys to play with and all, but I always  wanted me a black doll. I had  white ones, paper ones , knock off barbies, and more.  I even walked miles looking for 1 in a thrift store. I was crazy about them all but it was  something about a black doll. Then I grew up and had  babies of my own.  No more fake babies in my home. They all had that color of brown sugar. Closest I’ll get to  a black doll, I figured.  Then my Heavenly Father allowed another birth, and for  my black doll, not another search. Her ears were so dark that folks were saying, maybe its her birthmark. My mother took one look at her and said, no, thats gonna be one black child, but I was thinking,  I finally have own black doll!

Written by Me Praise God for all my blessings!
My mom died a few months later that year, so I remember what she said about her last grandchild she got to see before she died.
