Lay your head at my feet

Lay your head at my feed for I want to endure
these feelings of happiness I ask nothing more
than to be there beside you forever and a day

the moon will be glorious, a vision of delight
shining down on us both
until we take flight

I'll take you in my arms and tell you my dreams
of unicorns and dragons and magical things

for life is too short for reality dreams
of illness and tragedy so let us take wing

To places unknow until we arrive
to  find the magic of nature
and all that abides

for beauty is within us
and all that we see
is a filter within us and what we can be

so i see us together in a field somewhere
with a baby in tow
and smiles everywhere

Our house is in sight
but we choose the night
to lay in our field
and experience what is real

About this poem

my great escape from reality is in this poem. A simple depiction of taking time to dream and escape reality.
