Love

I want to find love,
Whether it is in a song,
Or just some words written on the wall.
Maybe it’s in a dewdrop,
Or in the breeze.
What if I found it,
And just let it leave?
Your eyes were empty,
Mine were full,
Yet I found it incredible.
I held you up when you were down,
Though I never seemed to make you proud.
Your darkness clouded my view,
I only ever wanted to be with you.
I stood still as you closed the curtain,
I never felt more than a burden.
I was too foolish to understand,
It went past just holding your hand.
Did you go without saying goodbye,
Or did I not listen when you cried?
Sometimes we don’t feel love till it’s gone,
What did I do wrong?
