The Gloaming

Charldia 1953 (Gadsden, Alabama)

America is in the gloaming
That place between night and day
Not quite overcome by darkness
Nor in the light that shines the way.
We're straddling a fence
Which way will we fall
Into more sin and degredation
Or into hope for us all
Rise up Christians
It's time to pray
For America to return to God
And find her way
Back to the truths and principles
On which our nation was founded
Back to family values
That keep our nation grounded
America is in the gloaming
That place between night and day
Where we come out
Depends on how much we pray.
