I used to be..

I used to be youthful and beautiful
And my spirits young and alive
But after the rape of a hard fate
My youthfulness leached away
And my spirits turned vengeful

I used to have a spring to my steps
Full of vigor coursing through my veins
But after trudging the desert of my life
Am now crawling on my bruised knees
My blood curdled and sour

I used to have a quick-beating heart
Overflowing with hot burning passions
But after a thousand painful rejections
My heart is a shattered calabash
With no memory of what love is

I used to have a quick-witted mind
Full of vivacious dreams and imaginations
But after the ravage of utter despair
My dreams are horrific nightmares
And my mind is stuck on suicide

Thank you so much for the message of hope and inspiration! Although I've all but given up, it's still nice to receive a message of hope. Thank you!
