You want me to be happy for you

you want me to be happy for you
yet how could your joy cause me so much pain
you want to leave with our memories
you betrayed me and you couldn't care less
you don't think i love you
yet I never needed you more than I needed you right now
you want me to be happy for you
yet how can I, when you laugh at my pain
and could care less that you broke me
you want me to be happy for you
yet the memories of us are imprinted in my brain
the continuous conversations we once had
the cries we bled
the bond that was unbreakable
is broken, and gone and I fear it may never return
you want me to be happy for you
yet you left me
broken, mad, and worse of all shattered
left clinging to the memory we once had
as an image of hope of remembering who you once were
to last forever
you want me to be happy for you
when your knife stabbed me in the back
as I realized i no longer have you
and each day as the knife thickens
is another day you are with her
you want me to be happy for you
yet you don't care about my broken heart
your job was to stay, to be here forever
you want me to be happy for you
yet as days pass, and the memories fade
I break more and more realizing I no longer have you

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I was going through a tough time with my family. When my dad left.
