In The Night

As the quietness and calmness surround the room,
the drums are hitting loudly,
the white wall starts to fade,
the scratching doesn't stop.

The bed starts to sink in,
the pillow covers the ears,
the blanket warms the frozen toes,
the darkness brings the fear.

Eyes are shut but the mind runs,
the heavy lids cannot rest,
the pain in the neck pierces the heart,
cries for sleep but sleep does not hear.

Morning creeps in slowly,
tiredness travels through the body,
routine starts,
Not wanting to go back in the night.
