Love Yourself
I've been fat and overweight my whole life.
I was disrespected and treated unfairly because of my size.
I got bullied on a daily, for no reason and because of that, my self esteem got buried.
I didn't have the slim thick nor skinny shape that society worship.
So I was constantly reminded that my body was very mistaken.
All the trauma and drama, hate and weight, made me lack self love.
I know, I know,
My father above told me that I am beautiful, fearfully and wonderfully made but I can't help but be afraid, of what people are saying or thinking....
about me.
My life was miserable because I was always on my knees, always trying to please, people who acted like I was a disease.
I would cry and ask God, "Why don't they like me? Why can't I just fit in?" And he answered saying, "why would you want to fit into a world that is full of sin.
Didn't you know that you were created to go against it?"
In that moment it clicked, I guess I forgot who my father is.
He is the God Almighty, King of kings, which makes me a Queen? or a Princess maybe? Either way I am royalty spiritually.
So how dare I try to find my identity in what surrounds me?
My surroundings is full of hatred, jealously, evilness, everything that comes from the enemy. But today I choose to make a change.
Today I choose to break free from the pity train.
When I am in my weakest moments, I will raise my head up and walk with such graceful confidence, to the point where my presence make demons and hell nervous.
I guess that's why the devil has been coming after me ever since I was a child, because he knew that I was chosen. He would fil my head up with lies, slowly becoming poison, making me think that I was broken, all because he feared revelation.
So disrespectfully I say, Go ahead and kick rocks.
Thinking that my blessing would be blocked, but no cap, Imma give you props, cause you almost had me there. Thinking you could give me a good scare, like I don't go through enough spiritual warfare.
I now know my worth and also my purpose on this earth.
The talents that God gave me is used to give him glory and share my testimony stories. So that others would see that MY GOD isn't some scientific theory.
I guess my point is, love yourself and know who you are in Christ. So when the enemy or someone tries to tell you differently, tell them that you are a prize and won't stand to be demoralized.
So as 2 Timothy 1 vs 7 says, "For the spirit of God does not make us timid but give us power, love and discipline.
About this poem
This poem is really touching and personal for me. It's about my life experience when I was a kid and how moved forward of getting to know my worth in my father (God).
