Locked and Down

Samit Das 1971 (Indirapuram)

Kids locked home, can't go out; down.
Pains me a time meaning 'Lock-down'.

No friend, no game, stuck home alone,
Reflex of limbs and flair mind's gone.

Mobile-screen tiring-eyes online class,
Playing feet miss most park and grass.

Smell of little rain-drops on soil-touch,
Refreshing air breathe, energize much.

Winnie Noddy Alice Harry story many more,
Inspire them often to play and explore.

But now they can't meet or share mind
Play only Indoor games, stay confined.

Need to follow norms but let' all pray
Soon they may go out again ...to Play.

About this poem

It is how I feel for the children unable to play freely in parks now on covid19 lock-down situation in many places.
