Distant Rhythms

Music in my head
rhythms from the past
Too young to realize
those rhythms wouldn't last
Mathematical correspondence
in relation to my friends
A head filled with visions
a circle filled with dead ends
Should I have sought out
some better kind of training
In youthful exuberance
my talent less restraining
Clinging on just for fun
roads of unknown glory
Had I been more serious
changing my whole damn story
The interest isn't gone
priority's have shifted
Returning to those interests
having my spirit forever lifted
