Love Lies

JosephC.Guess 1983 (Arkansas)

the first sight
of you
was like the very
first day of school
something new
something cool
something my heart
begin to invite
taught my eyes
what beauty
looks like
gave me feelings
I thought was right
with a hint
of innocence
in those
oval hypnotic eyes
shaped like
an hour glass
walk with
nothing but class
but a personality
that made my reality
come to a crash
expectations seems
as a fairytale
read in books
with anticipation
as far as it looks
with an exterior
made of tricks
to fool the
hopeless romantic
her selfish ways
was from a planet
with no siblings
with a purpose
to set traps
make your heart
love her
more than yourself
a woman that crept
in other wives beds
with lust in sight
a heart assassin
hunting day and night
drama surrounding
her life
will make a
nightmare of a wife
hope the next guy
acknowledges it
before she becomes
one
making him hate women
turning his personality
into lemons
spoiled from attention
and wants
with her aesthetics
is just so pathetic
will she ever discover
her true soul
to prove us wrong

Really a very nice and heartly written poem almost near to reality, the beginning is quite impressive. I really like it. Thanks.
