Fingerprint 1959 (Lakewood)

The moment we met I stitched us together by night in the rocking chair, marveled at your fingertips, and I memorized your foreign navel. The sweeps of your eyebrows while unraveling your language
Having accepted the unfamiliar I watched the proof of our union.
I inhaled and kissed your perfect face, moist from busy dreaming
Your fragrance marked me as your fingerprint only a mother can read.
