A losing battle to doze!

GIDRAF MWANGI 1992 (Murang'a)

When the day has been dreary
Topped by the glare of the sun in the sky
And the doings not altogether good
Coz its clear much more you could
Sleep peeps at you in droves
And there’s a massive slacken of muscles

Whenever you try to be awake
And create concentration of your make
You always meet a dead end
And your energy does nothing grand
But a flutter of eyelids and a moan
Before you return to the land of unknown

Sleep like fate, is an involuntary
It inflicts and cajoles to its own way
And lead you to a deception point
Taking your mental to places far and distant
But the most ominous thing is that
You cannot get rid of it how hard you try

Until it’s done with you!
