in your shy and beautiful way,

in an ice-cream sort of way.

10 times I plucked up courage

10 times you turned and smiled
and my head began to reel.

10 times I said “I love you!”
from the bottom of my heart,
10 times you said, “me too,
right from the start”.

10 times I thought of asking
you to marry me,
and 10 times the tumbling butterflies they,
they prevented me.

But 10 times it’s been a year
of happiness and love,
and 10 times I’m convinced
you’re sent from above.

if time would decree,
