Analysis of A Gentleman!

Evans E Bradley 1949 (Washington, DC)

A gentleman is something I've always tried to be,
It seems like for some reason it's always hurting me,
I meet someone I like and I try to talk the game,
But once that person meets me they see I'm not the same,
Is that good or is that bad it's really hard to say,
I just know that after that they really don't want to play,
It really leaves me lonely and feeling quite depressed,
Even though I've been so honest and tried to do my best,
Trying to be honest and not telling any lies,
Seems to be the thing that hurts me most and makes me want to cry,
It seems some women just like the lying cheating man,
For a man who opens his heart seems not to have a chance,
I've been this way so long, so I no longer question why,
I only hope is that I meet someone; I can love before I die,
Why can I find someone who will accept me for what I am,
A lonely, horny, unloved, brokenhearted gentleman!
