Analysis of I Am That Fire

I see her face In the the dying fire.
Warm glowing embers, inviting me to caress them, feel her heat against my skin.
Her form is revealed within every shadow.
Her scent lingers in the soft breeze created by the ocean’s endless push.

I hear the pop and crackle of reality that snaps me back.
Liquid Mercury streams from the sky, bathing the rooftops like a blanket
of freshly fallen snow.
But winter is gone.
Spring is now.

Everything carries me to her.
The lighter than air ash rising from the fire.
The tiny droplets, misting against my face, floating on million year old trails.
The smell of the sea, fresh, warm, moist, as a child’s breath.
They’re all vessels, ships that carry me to her island that waits for me.

Remember me, with every flower that seeks your lips.
With every silver moon that rises in your shimmering pools.
With each morning ray that kisses your cheek.
With each snap, crackle and pop of the fire.
I am that fire.
You are my oxygen.
We are love’s fire that can never be extinguished.
