Analysis of Is this my country
Benson Chukwueke 1971 (Owerri)
Is this my country or is it hell
Is it the fire I must go through to live well
Living here in my fatherland
Living with an empty hand
Wallowing for not following
The diabolical wind billowing
Is this the pressure that push the weak to fall
Is this the hardship that cause men to play ball
To compromise their faith in integrity
And decide to seal their fate in atrocity
Must I live low life in high places
Must I live as an outlaw in the rat races
Must I just put up a good front
But sacrifice the blood of innocent
So I can make ritual money
Own empire flowing with milk and honey
Must I?
No, not I
I shall not give up my course at this hour
I shall not bow my knees to evil Power
I shall remain an Evangelist of high-priced
Crusading for the return of Christ
