Analysis of 2020/10/21 ~ Austin

I remember the way you used to smile
Before Death had its grip on you.
I remember your laugh,
The way it cheered me up.

Between a rock and a hard place,
You were always there for me.
I never truly knew just what loss meant
Til I heard you died at seventeen.

Too young, it what I still say.
Too harsh, that's what Death is.
I remember you so vividly
As if ten years was yesterday.

Dark brown hair, laughing brown eyes,
Chubby cheeks, so adorable.
We laughed and played til the sun went down,
More than a cousin, my closest friend.

Two years later, I write to you.
I miss you so, wish you were here with me.
Smiling down in Heaven,
I presume that's where you are.

Tears, when they dim the eye for you,
I wonder where you were.
How could it have happened?
Why were you there?

Your smiling brown eyes and short brown hair
Will forever in my memory stay
As I live through life
Until my dying day.
