Analysis of Wishes
On Monday I wished that time moved more slowly,
Our weekend ended while i was settling in to it's grasp.
Now I want to skip the time between now and next Friday,
But I don't want to wish my life away.
I have wasted my affections on the undeserving,
They told me we were perfect and left with part of my heart.
I wish I knew what I wanted sooner,
But I wouldn't want to miss out on what I found.
Would I have been able to love in the past?
I'm not sure if I understood what was involved.
Would you have been ready for me last year?
Or were you busy becoming you?
I would say I wish I met you before I did,
But I could never wish away what I have...
