Analysis of The Ride
I woke up this morning, drained as any other
Arose from my workbench and threw on my covers.
I shut my mind down from the exhausting night
Numbed my limbs and blurred my sight.
I set my switches to the appropriate mode
And my car transported me on down the road.
I checked in the mirror for that self-assured mask.
Locked it in place for today's programmed tasks.
At night I clock in, I close out the day
I release all the things that get in the way
I know I'm too much, I've got too much inside
So here, coast is clear. Can I just enjoy the ride?
I'm not scared or ashamed of these things that I keep
And its not just a Pavlovian response, so to speak.
Yea, I've felt the stinging when I didn't follow orders
But its with knowledge and strategy that I flee to my quarters.
I don't intend to pretend for all my life
I'm just waiting for the world to go under the knife.
Blame me you may, at my disclosure go and scowl
As you're praising my performance and applauding through my bow.
At night I clock in, I close out the day
I release all the things that get in the way.
I know I'm too much, I've got too much inside
So here, coast is clear. Can I just enjoy the ride?
