Analysis of The Dawn of Evermore

We see through a glass darkly
As our shadows still walk without us
Rave the light fantastic key
It's just the calm before the storm
Elsewhere spirits walk for me
In ice blue blankets who are never warm

The poets shuffle up the deck
Into the eye of Evermore
Satan says, "Oh what the heck
I never meant to hold the door"
While God's bright baby light
Sails the ships of darkest night

So the captain leads immortal men
With gypsy banner flag unfurled
'Til Sunshine's light should rise again
On a crystal shore in our new world

There are no lines in nature now
There are no foes to fight for right
There is no sweat upon our brow
Only gold and white blue light

So we live in second sight
With love upon our banner bright
To keep the force of do or dare
To breathe the breath of Heaven's air
We know the narrow path of fate
We walked the road on through the gate

We are the folk they call strange brew
Who found a way to make it through
From darkly glitter mirror glass
To scale the rocky overpass
Heroes of the final war
Live forever in Evermore
