Analysis of She Wasn't You

I had my first date
Since you told me goodbye
I got home real late
On a Saturday night

I can say this
It went pretty well
Though something was missing
She could never tell

I try to talk to her
But you won't let me
I should kick you to the curb
And set my heart free

When we made out
I saw you there
But I opened my eyes
I didn't see you anywhere
I swear...
