Analysis of Rain, My Sneaking Tears

How heavily fell the rain that day
From burdened clouds of mournful gray.
The torrent forced them to stay their height-
Composure swayed by onerous might.

Rain, Rain please pour on me.
Rain, Rain please set me free.
Rain, Rain don't let the sun shine through.
Rain, Rain my heart is now a pit of goo.

My skin wet with icy chill
As mud embraced that sodden hill.
But mind of mine had somewhere else gone-
‘Twas clouds abandoned I was on.

Rain, Rain blow the ocean breeze.
Rain, Rain sway the forest trees.
Rain, Rain don't wash away.
Rain, Rain I wish you could stay.

The driving drops advance their gears
To camouflage my sneaking tears-
Whence now did swell such feelings of pain
To see me melt into this rain.

Rain, Rain don't let the birds chirp or the children play.
Rain, Rain please stop time today.
Rain, Rain do you understand my sorrow?
Rain, Rain, please be here tomorrow.

Oh, Rain I finally understand you,
You have forged my soul anew.
On equal bearing now are we:
This rain, myself, in harmony.
