Analysis of Puppy Love

big brown eyes and a wide eyed stare
you run around the house without a care
dinner time and you rush into the kitchen
i tell my stories, you sit and listen

you jump up and down and all around
you trip and fall but you never frown
you scream and howl in a sea of crowded children
you wanted love and affection and all those other complicated feelings

i still remember all the times when you would wake me up at four in the morning
hop on to my bed and lick my face without a warning
but i could never get mad at you my little princess
cause all you wanted was hugs and kisses
