Analysis of Of Who I Am
This is an expression of who I am:
The battlefields of Vietnam;
The mass graves covered with no respect,
The napalm bombs I must reflect.
A cry to God that must be there;
An aching heart that knows I care;
A fear for loss and great despair.
Can you meet me half way there?
Thoughts divulged with pen in hand;
Deliberations etched in sand.
Now it's time to take a stand,
Declare with pride that I am man.
See me now as I reflect.
I contemplate with great respect.
I love this life and all who are in it,
There's no other way for me to to spin it.
We all exist to show God's love
Yet there's so much we're neglectful of.
There are those who thrive on hate;
It's evil deeds they perpetrate.
Yet we must seek to overcome
And thwart the evil deeds we shun.
From one generation to another
Until we start to live as brothers.
