Analysis of Nights Like This...

It's on nights like this his face
cant be erased, nights like this
when my heart begins to ache.

Nights like this I reach out for his
hand to hold, nights like this when
his response feels so cold.

Nights like this I wonder how much
longer we'll be apart, nights like
this when silent words begin to
impart.

Nights like this tears are his only
touch, nights like this when a
prayer becomes my crutch.

Nights like this I'm reminded of his
kiss, nights like this when my
dreams become pure bliss.

Nights like this a memory burns so
deep, nights like this when I need
what's mine to keep.

Nights like this I stretch to hear
his song, It's on nights like this
when I hear the Lord say "daughter,
just hold on."
