Analysis of Never Fade

Time ticks steady as I feel it—
the compromise between life and death.
And with raised hands and candles I can wait,
with cracks in my backbone and my breath.
My aging heart, it pounds and grates
though painlessly, it just never ends.
Still, I wait.
