Analysis of It grieves me

The mistakes I've made, visit every day
and it grieves me.
The memories are past and they should not last.
but they do and it grieves me!

Those times have gone by but stay in 'minds eye'
and it grieves me.
Those errors of judgement I will never forget
and it grieves me.

The friends I have lost at such a cost
and it grieves me.
A moment of madness and all is lost
and it grieves me.

Judgement Day is every day
and it grieves me!
