Analysis of Into the Void, Act IV: Coming Out of the Void, Chapter 3 - Unclean

If you're praying in an upward direction
Would your pray for me to see more clearly
The next steps that I must take
To escape this place.

If you're praying in an upward direction
Would your pray for me to see more clearly
How to let myself let go of all I feared to lose,
How to let myself let go of you.

I thank you for letting me fumble through this
At my insistence, and imposition upon you.

To move into a forward direction
Don't let me back-slide,
The front and rear collide.
It's time to step inside
In order to stay alive.
Stay inside the lines,
That which we've defined
As the boundless boundaries
Inside.

If you're praying in an upward direction
Would you pray for me to see more clearly
The next steps that I must take
To escape this place.

f you're praying in an upward direction
Would your pray for me to see more clearly
How to let myself let go of all I feared to lose,
How to let myself let go of you.

I would change the path of this course that we have set
For ourselves.

Fall on your knees, fingers intertwined
Close your eyes to see, and you will find
What you seek, no longer blind.
Fall on your knees, you must close your eyes
To see what it is you seek.

We are all terrible
But may we be forgiven
For taking for granted
What we were given.

(Save my soul, wash me clean)

Let myself let go of you
Nothing left to hold onto
Slate wiped clean I'll start anew

If you're praying in an upward direction
Would you pray for me to see more clearly
The next steps that I must take
To escape this place.

f you're praying in an upward direction
Would your pray for me to see more clearly
How to let myself let go of all I feared to lose,
How to let myself let go of you.

I used to write a lot of poetry when I was a little kid, but eventually lost interest as I got older. I started writing poetry again as a form of art-therapy during a really hard time in my life. I like to try to experiment with different styles and strange metaphors. Understandably, this can make some of my poetry less accessible at times, but occasionally I feel like it pays off. more…
