Analysis of I'm Tired of Fighting My Heart
Ive fought this fight before.
I know how it ends.
No, not because im stronger.
Its because even LOVE can die if its not fed.
You have to wait it out.
It will die slowly.
It will feel very cold.
But before it does,
it will eat you away,
just like a rapid through a soft sandy shore.
It will tear you apart.
Trying to break free.
It will leave you dried up and numb.
But all you have to do is be quiet and still.
Dont feed it.
It will die eventually.
(thats what i tell myself now)
Do i feel cruel?
Maybe.
But i have no other choice.
Ive fought this fight before.
Im forced to fight it again.
And i think its easier now,
this second time around.
Its a quiet fight from the outside.
Not much goes on on the outside.
On the inside, however,
its chaos.
All the chains i put up seem to shatter.
Its very strong in the begining.
Its also very sly.
It speaks of hope.
It tells me,
“Please, just listen to me-
theres always hope.”
At times i believe it,
but then i see its just a trick.
Im tired of fighting.
I really am.
Im tired of being cruel to the only thing that wishes me well.
Im tired.
Stop me.
Give me a reason to stop fighting.
Please.
