Analysis of Grandma's Lap

There she sits in her rocking chair, waiting
as I run over to stand beside her,
reaching down she gently picks me up.
Placing me in her lap, her arms encircle
me in her warm embrace.
Rocking back and forth, we listen to the
hypnotic creek of the chair.
Time slowly passes as late afternoon finds
us slumbering peacefully together.
Brown curls and rosy cheeks pressed against
her wrinkles, gray hair and soft bosom.
Snuggling together, sitting in my grandma's
lap, I feel safe and secure.
Nothing can compare to this feeling of love.
Grandmother and granddaughter
Years of wisdom and innocence.
