Analysis of Gone
The second she walks out the door
It just feels wrong
It's not a feeling of being alone
But a longing...
Wanting her to stay
Wanting to say "I love you"
Just one more time
She's got my heart on a straight line
That long kiss goodnight in the rain
The smell of her hair on my clothes
Driving me insane
Wonderfully and indelibly stained
On all of my memories
Remnants and imprints
Of her beauty and symmetry
As I hold her close —
The one thing in this world
That I want most
But alas, the day resigns
And I pretend that I'm fine
But the truth be told
I'll be missing her before long
One more kiss
"I'll call you in a minute."
It always feels so unfinished
And then...she's gone
(But I'm praying to God
That it won't be for long)
