Analysis of Gift

Sunlight warming my arms while driving
on a cool summer morning,
Fresh breezes wash me on this morning,
like a baby's first breath,
Sunday, peace filling me, still water,
silence playing softly over me.
Wait, What was that?
(Confusion, a presence, anger, rage, hate)
Glimpse caught from the corner,imperfection
Turning, seeing, a black man, a nig..
Stop, something's not right, scarred brow
He walks dragging one foot,
left eye half closed by anger's touch.
"I'm sorry man," a whisper,
"I wouldn't wish that on no man."
"Sorry friend," half spoken,
As a tear fell down one cheek,
I saw my Savior in his final hour,
"I wouldn't wish that on no man."
And I knew. His Gift.
