Depression hurts, depression kills,
It makes us go against our own wills.
It makes us do things, that we never would have done.
Whether it's to ourselves, or to our loved one.
When in that moment, we can't see, for we are blind.
We fail to see the people who love us and are trying to be kind.
We fail to see the beauty inside ourselves.
We put it in a box, and hide it on the shelves.
We don't do this with thought or intentionally.
Why we continue to do it remains a mystery.
For us it seems to be the only way to survive and deal.
It's muddled in our minds, we can no longer tell what's real.
In our right minds, we would never cause our loved ones pain.
Because we would know how they would feel, it would be insane.
To hurt someone we love, by the actions we've done.
In our right minds, we know that it wouldn't benefit anyone.
And there lays the key, we are not in the right frame of mind.
So we are going through the motions of life, totally blind.
Not knowing the pain and hurt we leave in our path.
Not knowing the cruel words we may use in our wrath.
In reality, we just want to find a way out of the bind that we're in.
We want others to understand, where we are, and where we have been.
We hope that we can reach out and grab someone's hand.
But that is all, most of us, have nothing else planned.
Others may choose to end their lives, by any means they can think of.
They are too caught up in their pain, they miss our greatest gift, our love.
