Analysis of Covenant of the Ark

Covenant of the Ark
She will rise above moon and stars where humankind could only dream.
Hideousness so evil that torments men's minds in nightmarish screams.
Crows fall from the skies, In front of our eyes, as demons hide in the dark.
The wolves howl, the ground shakes as our soul's quake, in search of the Ark.

The Ark of the Covenant forever lost in time will reveal the truth to humankind.
As a fleet of a thousand ships sail the ominous seas in search to find.
On the waking waters, pitched in waves, sown by the seeds of death,
From the bowels of men, to the passageways of a beating heart's breath.

Standing on a brown stoned arched bridge, overlooking a running brook surrounded in green,
A lushness of grass and flowering beauty suited only for the heavenly eyes of a queen.
I willingly give my heart and pledge my life in the service of her royal majesty,
In the crossing of the sea, to strange lands I shall find the Ark for thee.

In the demon's trap, I fear we all might die this night in a wake feeding from the dead.
Confronting boding evil could not endure as demons spew out from mouths yet fed.
From the holy cross upon my shield to the Covenant of the Ark, I see her demise.
For the demon she is and the knight I am, I swear she shall tell know more lies.

I crossed the threshold of the mist with six brave men with swords forged in steel.
In the twilight world of the living and the dead, gives way to the surreal.
We ventured into the caverns of the darkest hell, in search of the Ark
As the she demon, took the souls of my six men, all in quiet of dark.

Now, I fear I have failed as I am destined to remain in this cavern jail.
To vanquish the she demon and find the ark, I did try to no avail.
Upon the brown arched bridge the queen will be.
Where I hope she will think fondly of me.

Norman Wilson

IntroductionForgotten are the times the tick of a clock once chimed sobering sounds that caressed my hearts nightly dreams. As I awaken to the touch of light that burns upon a candles wick flickering my words for all to see. This drives my thoughts through the darkest of nights of loneliness that renders my quill upon parchment with ink that dances to minds and souls. Now I hear the screeching of my heart when the blue horizon covers the orb of emptiness.Within the shelter of my mind with little, purpose other than my words that keep me sane. These are my new poems I have written in the quiet of my night, forever wished away in a writer’s pain. As I strive to write that perfect poem that, my soul desperately seeks. Then and only then can my words rest upon a sleep. more…
