Analysis of Cold Shoulders
He turns away from me
his naked back like a fortress
which I dare not enter.
My eyes, my mind, like silent missiles
try to penetrate and crumble
the thick walls of his shoulders.
I close my eyes---I retreat.
There will be no conflict tonight;
no war will be won
great or small.
Similarly, none will be lost.
