Analysis of Betrayal
A house darkened by
The emptiness which hollows me
I had everything I dreamed of
Love, home, family destroyed
By deceit, wanting more
Than the trust of your beloved
Till death we do part
Yet how come my heart still
Beats for you and you
Are entrenched in the arms
Of another, you lied to me
And the children went with you
I visit ever so often but
The time never comes soon
Enough, reminisce it does nothing
For me I look upon this house
Bare cupboards, cold fireplace
The beds barren were my children
Once slept and know that
Promises made in passions glow
Often fade with the advance of time
When did you realize I was not
The man you wanted when
Did you realize I was not enough?
Is a man measured by the heft of
his wallet or his ideals?
