Analysis of Before Long

A dawn rises,
shining into my room,
lighting the contours of each dark corner,
memories flood my mind,
each sense attacked,
scents fill my nose,
your rose perfume providing a shadow of yourself,
I feel the mist of your breath on my neck,
raising every hair,
the sweet taste of your lips invades my mouth,
intoxicating me, drugging me,
your soft pant,
lifting me out of sleep faster than any sun could,
visions of your lovely body enter my sight,
drawing forth an accelerated breath,
so delightful is your life;
and then I notice your space on my bed empty,
you've left for work already,
but no worry hits my mind,
I take comfort knowing you'll be here before long.
