Analysis of Because of You

Because of you, I think bad thoughts.
Because of you, I am unhappy.
Because of you, I silently cry myself asleep at times.
Because of you, I can not be who I really am.
Because of you, my own father, my life is truly horrible.

I am 13, but have been writing for awhile. My name is Maria. I love to write because it's the only thing that truly lets me express myself. I do not like to show my emotions. That is why I enjoy writing. No one knows that I write poetry, yes some may know my writing abilities, but no one knows I write poetry. I am from Iowa, and have been through a lot. But no matter what I go through, my writings have always helped me get by. I am the oldest of three. I have a younger brother and sister. I do whatever I can so they do not have to remember our horrid past. I shield them from the ugliness of the world, and what they have to go through everyday. Many say I do not cry, but they shall never know the truth. Not showing my emotions? True. Heartless? Not even close. I may seem 'cold hearted' for I have been called that many times, especially by my mother, but I am just saying what you need to hear. I'm not saying I'm the best, but I do not think I'm the worst either. Please enjoy. more…
