Analysis of Awake

A shift in silence barely felt
But small electric change
Dimness brightens as hazy glow
Finds cracks in darkened quiet space

Warm silent blankets of hazy light
Draw advancing over sleeping place
First furry tails a lazy wag
Then tiny heads are softly raised

Lost dreams cling to final fight
By sounds of daybreak chased away
Where once all shared in breath of night
Now all suffuse with break of day
