Analysis of Athirst

He drank Bathsheba's water
 Boiling at the thought
 Reverting to a Philistine
Some things should not be wrought

Merlin knew her temper
How cold a witch could be
 But he drank her water
 And he became a sea

Between the breast of doves
 At the neck of ivory
 Wisdom flew his keeper
 And with it Covenantry

Her eyes were many waters
Her love a crazed god's thing
 Walls, they are no fortitude
 When Sirens start to sing

And why would good men do it?
 Men are made to thirst
 For in are Legends making
 We were all once dirt.
