Analysis of Aeterna

Sweet lover, who drifted away into your own desert of despair.
Chased out of my time by demons that were beyond my reason.
Untouchable Devils that devoured your soul and my heart.
Leaving a memory that screams out for a future to care.

Whilst each year those tiny flowers so delicate and blue
Cast a mantle of life over your eternal sleep.
And then slowly die to their own secret rhythms
and hide their seeds in sacred soil, for spirits to renew.

No charity can help now,nor tender mercy heal.
Restless flight took you away to a land beyond our dreams.
And my scared heart cries out for mercy for you.
and the tears of denial fall into the void that is so real.

The totems were felled as we watched the desecration of truth,
And as they burned we all slowly and unknowingly died.
weeping over the ashes, letting the flames burn our soul.
And let the cloak of reality place sadness over our youth.

We used to be one in those days so long back in the dreams
Seeing and talking and laughing through the same mind.
Staring at a life forever more, in the desert of hope.
As the wind cut channels into the dust of imaginary streams.

Oh lover, sweet, sweet, lover who now only embraces the night.
I want you to stand proud in our future and remember our past.
Each tear brings us close and as we hold your heart to the stars,
Know that the dark hides the beating drum and tomorrow's light.
