Analysis of A Song of Myself

As betrayed by fate and duty,
To the vaults I confess:
If I've been a girl so pretty,
Why I couldn't choose but guess?

Born among the baby booming,
Then a youngster on the run,
I embraced my share of losing
As my wealth was next to none.

And the winds of deathly morrow,
Raging like an awful sea
Did not heal my pain and sorrow,
But they stole my memory.

If the nights with such imbalance,
Made me speechless, not to say,
I still wonder why thy silence,
Couldn't choose a fearless way?

You, the people of unkindness,
Let my brain for once alone!
Let my mind to keep it's brightness,
Let my life to be my own!

To engage the mighty scale,
To define the right from wrong!
Shall I place across this tale,
It might be undying song!

Then, I live the wild places,
Just to reach another shore,
I feel brave to see new faces,
That no one has seen before.
