Analysis of A last thought (P.S.)
Will you wonder where I went?
Will you miss me when I’m gone?
Or will my echo be too soft
To last very long?
My frayed strings of reason
Broke a time ago.
But your beauty still calls to me
Through the void of joy and woe.
But your beauty still calls to me
Not to go, not to go.
An ending ripple,
in a rainstorm,
derived from a tear.
A dying whisper,
fading soon,
with no one around to hear.
I never bother looking back,
The way is forever blocked.
And forward slopes steeply downward
To a door, barred and locked.
So now I know what they mean;
Up to heaven, and down to Hell.
Because when you can’t turn left or right
The only choice
Is to say
Farewell.
