Analysis of Finding a True Friend
Michael Nicodemus 1969 (Gresham, Oregon)
It is hard to find a true friend,
That won’t stab you in the back.
We need someone to be that special friend
To help us feel comfortable and relaxed.
We need somebody that’ll be there for us,
And never leave us alone;
Someone that’ll never talk bad about us,
When we are gone.
We need a friend that won’t lie,
And be cruel to us.
A friend that won’t say goodbye,
And never desert us.
We need a friend that will keep us up
When we are down;
A friend that’ll never give up,
And never let us down.
We need someone to pat us on the back,
For a job well done;
A friend to keep us on track,
When that task isn’t done.
We need someone to lean on
for all the good times;
Someone to weep on
For all the sad times.
