Analysis of Doctor’s Orders



Symptoms:
Staring into empty space
Sad and lonely
Needing someone to listen
A trusted friend, if only

Prognosis:
Used and abused by so-called friends
Tension and stress over load
Lack of confidence
The result of wrong turn roads

Prescription:
Compose words of poetic verse
Post poetry on Poetry.net
Repeat as necessary
When symptoms refuse to exit

Doctor’s orders:
Face your fears
Stand your ground
Invest in self-pride
Write it all down

Guess you could say I'm a self taught poet. I started writing poetry as a means of dealing with the emotions of finding my Birthmother's obituary and grave site after searching for 10 years. I continued writing and over the course of the last 20 years I've become comfortable in how I write. You'll notice I tend to write a lot about nostalgia and old memories. Hey, when you round the corner of 60 years, you start thinking a lot about the past and where you've been. One of my subjects I write about is love, but I try to write of other things too. I've lived on the south shore of Massachusetts for all of my 64 years. But I love all of New England. Aside from writing poetry, I also love photography and have quite a collection of old antique cameras. Baseball, football, muscle cars and car shows are also some of my interests.
