Analysis of A Writer’s Unwritten Rule

Yes, I’m inclined to write
You might say I’m obsessed to rhyme
But in today’s crazy world
Far worse has been done with time

So I let the voice inside
Come forth with words of prose
Sometimes of tears that fall like rain
Others of the beauty in a single rose

I hear angels sing within my heart
Listen closely and you too may hear it
The smile that grows upon your face
I think you’ll find it’s a pleasure to wear it

Walk this earth with more than open eyes
Each step with radiant heart
Don’t forsake yourself
For all the beauty you are

Sometimes the words come not from me
And I’m merely a writing tool
But I’ll always lend a hand
For that’s a writer’s unwritten rule

DanceOfThePoet'sPen

Guess you could say I'm a self taught poet. I started writing poetry as a means of dealing with the emotions of finding my Birthmother's obituary and grave site after searching for 10 years. I continued writing and over the course of the last 20 years I've become comfortable in how I write. You'll notice I tend to write a lot about nostalgia and old memories. Hey, when you round the corner of 60 years, you start thinking a lot about the past and where you've been. One of my subjects I write about is love, but I try to write of other things too. I've lived on the south shore of Massachusetts for all of my 64 years. But I love all of New England. Aside from writing poetry, I also love photography and have quite a collection of old antique cameras. Baseball, football, muscle cars and car shows are also some of my interests. Not too crazy about Winter. Spring & Summer are my favorite seasons. more…
