Analysis of American Soldier
I prayed for you today to keep you safe from harm.
For Him to be your guiding light, and hold you in His arms.
I prayed for you today, so I can speak to you once more.
To hear the sweet words you say to keep my heart warm.
I prayed for your safe return because there is no doubt,
If you were to die, how would I find out?
I need to hear your soft words trembling in my ears
to feel your breath against me as you soothe away my fears.
You give me butterflies that I thought were forever still,
and now that I found you, I hope they never will.
