Analysis of I Don’t Feel Like Feeling Anymore

I don’t feel like feeling anymore
I sit here in my thoughts
Trying to make sense
Of what I am supposed to think.
But all I get is pain
From the heart to my head
A knife digging in
To the very core of my soul.

I don’t want to feel the pain
Of the decisions I’ve made
Of the lives I’ve played
All because I don’t know how to think.
I’ve been cut down
By the dullest blade known to man
My own mind stuck in a circle
I feel there is nowhere to turn.

I don’t want to see anymore
There is a gun to my head
A knife at my heart
But none of these are mine.
The demons of life
That are all around
Are trying to make me surrender
By making me fear death itself.

I will not feel the pain anymore
Somehow, somewhere there is a light shining
It seems to be blinding me
But it is showing me where to go.
It is not an easy road
It is not too short
But it has a promise of tomorrow
Which makes living today… A joy.
