Analysis of My fair county derry

Oh my lovely County Derry
I am aware of your calling
Across that wide expanse
Of our fair planet earth.

A sound occurrence which
Happens frequently since
I departed from the land of
The Gael those long years ago.

A reality which brings tears
To fall frequently from my
Eyes- my Irish eyes- in this
Land so far from home.

Oh! the future I am not aware
Of and all that I can do is pray
That my circumstances will
Change and that I'll return someday.

For emigration has confirmed that
Where I reside is fine and beautiful
But via my memory and experience
Far from being the land of Danny Boy.
